I have been thinking about this ever since someone posted a response to one of my postings and this person said they were 'offended'. Who gets offended more: Athiests or Christians? This could even refer to Theists in general as well.
I think you would agree that there seems to be a battle over the subject of religion and religious ideology. Some are passionate about their belief and live by it while others want it all to go away. I think part of this reason is because of some of the scandals we have seen in the 'church'. A term I use loosely.
It seems every day I read something about a group protesting to take some religious symbol out of some government property. Atheists cite the constitution while Christians refer to the founding Fathers and the generic use of 'God' that they used and is even engraved in the halls of Washington D.C.
When this protests take place I often see the Athiests using provocative acts of visuals displays to prove God doesn't exist. Meanwhile , Christians may hold protests by holding up certain signs to promote what it is they are protesting. In all of this wrangling people are being offended and the sensitivity levels are going up up and away it seems.
Athiests don't believe in God while some do get violent with this. Christians believe in God and to trample anything relating to God can bring out the violence in some Christians but also prayer and weeping of souls for other Christians. Many times it seems that those who shout and protest the loudest are heard and stereotyped by society and the media even if the stereotype if false.
Who does get offended more? Athiests? Or Christians?

I don't think it's even a push you consider that theists are offended merely by the fact that I exist, I have an opinion contrary to them and I won't shut up about it. You can't get more easily offensible than that. On the other hand, when somebody thanks God, or praises God or makes a show of religion in front of me, I'm not offended. Why would I? I'm no more offended by than I am by somebody throwing a penny in a fountain or rubbing a rabbit's foot. Though where I do think a line gets crossed, and I think I speak for many atheists when I say we've had enough of people who think like you or Steve Harvey or Newt Gingrich when you say nonreligious people lack moral bearing because we don't share your religious views.
Steve
Do you have any kind of religious background? Have you always been an Atheist? How or why did you become and Atheist?
I don't make a big stink out of morals or lack thereof when it comes to Atheists but I often wonder, with the world around us, how can a person say they don't believe in God v. not sure if God exists.
